The personal "Zine" project involved blending traditional magazine concepts with those of a self-expressive zine. I had creative freedom with the concept, but it was essential to ensure the structure was appropriate, using elements like a baseline grid, swatches, and paragraph styles. The zine needed to include standard magazine components such as decks, mugshots, and ads. The goal was to draw inspiration and excerpts from a song, book, or poem of my choice; I chose three songs centered around the theme of daydreaming. This zine features a short story from my life, with quotes, lyrics, goals, motivational words, and graphics representing some of my interests. A house style—a set of rules governing the look, feel, writing style, color, font size, texture, and patterns—was established to streamline the execution process.
Note: This project was created in Adobe Illustrator & InDesign. The majority of design elements, doodles, quotes and lyrics were hand-written, hand-drawn and/or free-handed in Illustrator.
